AB Project

A/B Project is the joint production guise of Steve Anderson & Chris Breame, two Trance Producers from Edinburgh, Scotland. Steve Anderson is a widely respected Trance DJ/Producer in the industry as well as owner of the DJSA Records UK Tech & Trance label, while Chris has worked solely as a producer/remixer in his time in the industry so far.

With their debut single “Distorted Clarity” released on DJSA Records and reaching number 1 in the EDM Trance chart in summer 2005, their second outing “Eternal Optimism” soon followed suit with large support from the likes of Armin Van Buuren and Above & Beyond – quickly winning ASOT Future Favourite and TATW Web Vote accolades thereafter. “Eternal Optimism” was titled as such due to A/B Projects attitude towards the Trance scene as a whole, and to the mindset they share whilst writing. The melody, strings, lead and overall journey of the track are summarised perfectly by its title. With interest in the track soaring both in the UK and around the world after the ASOT support, A/B Project were now firmly on the map across the global Trance community.

Following on from the global success of “Eternal Optimism”, the guys wasted no time delivering the massive follow up track “Misconceptions”. A Tech-Tinged Uplifting Trancer with some weird and wonderful surprises along the journey, the track received remix treatments from Soliquid, Ehren Stowers and Tom Colontonio – forming a strong 12” Vinyl release on Mondo Records in Autumn 2007. Soliquid took the track to another place with a very cool chillout mix, while Ehren Stowers delivered a beautiful uplifting alternative which had some great support from the likes of Armin and Above & Beyond once again. The release was topped off with Steve, Chris and Tom Colontonio being able to celebrate the award of “One For The Weekend” by National BBC Radio One in the UK – and they were also the first Trance artists to claim this title.

2008 sees A/B Project back in full swing, with the meaty release on Mondo Records “The Another Time EP”. A three-track EP comprising “Another Time” in both Original Mix format paired with a fantastic Icone remix, and the club smashing bigroom belter “Relentless”. With “Another Time” being one of the most driving yet beautiful Uplifting Trance tracks to surface this year, the flip side track “Relentless” takes no prisoners with its tough, driving bassline and stabs – it’s sure to destroy any club and ensures a release package which is not to be missed. With the follow up “Adversity” venturing into the world of Vocal Trance, Steve once again delivers the lyrics and vocal which will ensure it’s every bit as big as the duo’s preceding tracks – and there is plenty more to come from A/B Project soon with new groundbreaking productions constantly in the pipeline...
